Has anyone here ever autocrossed or road raced a MARK 8 ? I seen one that went to the Silver State Classic and one on a road course on a track day going slow , but none driven out of anger . Have any of you ?

I thought I'd get to see one at the Ford 100th Celebration at Waterford Hills in 2003, but the one Mark there didn't pass tech for some reason (Gen 1).

We took 3 mark 8's to an autoX here in houston.

The put us in the modified RWD class.
In the class there were 3 mark 8's and 1 '68 corvette w/327.

At the end of the day in our class
we placed 1st, 2nd and 4th the corvette came in third only .1 ahead of the 4th place mark 8.
needless to say most everyone was giving the "Vette guy" a hard time because he was getting WHUPPED by a bunch of Grandmas Cars...
HAHA

Then we went to a nighttime Autox at the police academy in houston.
We took 8 cars and had a great time.

It was a pitch dark track with NO LIGHTING...

I think the "nightvision" each first gen Mark 8 owner has, went along way it helping us get thru the course.

I'd stick to a smaller AutoX course.

On a high speed track the mark 8 will absolutely KILL a set of tires and brakes in a single afternooon.

sure would be fun to run at Infineon though, if I had the chance...I'd sacrifice a set of tires and brakes just so say "I RAN ON INFINEON"!
