running slightly rough

like the title says, the Mark isn't running quite like it should. A little vibration, mainly at idle and lower RPM's. Pulled the plugs (they had 40K miles on them) and they looked pretty good. Non the less cleaned them up and put them back in. Car is still the same.

Next guess is fuel injectors may be dirty, partially clogged. What is the possibility of that happening? Or any other thoughts?

RE: running slightly rough

Mine is doing the same thing. Also effecting my shifting from one gear to another when the car is around 1000-1100 rpm. I'm thinking Idle Control Valve for mine. My neighbor the Ford mechanic is going to put it on the computer at work and let me know.

RE: running slightly rough

Have you tried cleaning the MAF sensor?

Alldata also has a TSB concerning driveability issues due to the TPS getting wet? The cure is actually a waterproof rubber hood over the new TPS.

RE: running slightly rough

Same problem here exactly at around 1000-1100. Idle is ooook, not great but engine noticably vibrates at around 1000-1100. I believe I had a sticky IAC before the seafoam. But I don't see how it would affect things at 1000-1100.

RE: running slightly rough

The IAC was replaced this summer. So I know thats not the problem. Cleaning the MAF might be one idea.

Does this mean my theory on the fuel injectors is most likely wrong?

Not necessarily. I believe in a good fuel treatment at least annually. I usually use Chevron Techron and/or SeaFoam but I've been considering some BG Products.

RE: running slightly rough

Same problem. Engine vibrates at about 1000-1100 rpms.
First noticed that several years ago at about 90 000 ml.
Changed plugs twice since that with no help. Also spent around $100 to do engine flush/cleanup at the dealership .... didn't help.

Also it's vibrates more at the winter time (NJ).

Now I have 162,000 ml. and it is 98 lsc.
