RE: running vin#
Thanks for the report, Jay.
Jeremi, yea, i'm ready for, uh, today now. Taking off this afternoon, have the cash in my pocket. What time is your appointment, before mine or after mine?
I'm hoping to buy an early 90's, possibly late 80's, formula, hopefully in the 20k range, something between 23 and 27 feet with a single big block and a bravo outdrive, with a trailer. I'm kinda holding off on the hunt right now, i'll start looking more in January.
I bought the suburban in preparation for a boat, and because suburbans rock. There is a whole bunch of room in this bad boy. It's a '91, with 142k on it, 4x4, 1500. It's a conversion, a "trailmaster". The body is in great shape even though the color is ugly (white with red two tone, with red and silver stripes). There is almost no rust on this thing, just a couple spots in the back and some surface rust underneath. Even the lower lip of the doors are perfectly clean. Supposedly has a rebuilt trans 40k ago, and a rebuilt transfer case shortly after that. It appears to be in great shape mechanically, too, but i do have a few little things left to do to it. I paid $2k for it. I'll get around to taking a few pics sooner or later. i sold the blazer for $1300, although i let the guy give me $1100 and agree to pay me the other $200 this week, so who knows if i'll see it or not. But i needed $1100 last week more than i needed $1300 this week, so even if i get screwed, oh well.
We haven't got together really around here for awhile. We should see if we can get a local get together going again. Maybe we can all head to Kart 2 Kart, i still have some buy one get one free coupons there. Or do another hooters thing. Jeremi and I are both getting our cars tuned today at Alternative, but that's about the biggest detroit meet in awhile.
