yup, 65 bucks, 50 for a good one, 15 for a not so good one. the chrome inside the driver housing is in bad shape. actually, i came home to eat dinner but im going back to my shop soon, i already have half of the housing rechromed. i carefully cut the lense off and managed to cut it just right so the ridge around the whole housing is still there, so the lense when put back on will slip over the outer ridge of the composite housing. i'll take some pics of the lense refinished. i should de done tonight.

the way i cut it, worked the same as if i heated it and pulled it apart, i only made the lense less then 1/8 inch shallower. i really didnt want to put plastic in my brand new oven lol. but i finished rechroming the driverside, and buffed the two of them out. the only thing i need now is to find the black plastic ring that holds the high beam bulb in, one housing is missing it. if i cant find one, i dont know what im gonna do to get a high beam to stay in it!

This is just a thought--I've never had a Gen 1, so I really don't know for sure, but since the high beam bulbs are the same for HID/non HID, would you be able to just reuse the piece from your old housings?

Like I said, I've never had a Gen 1, so if they're totally different somehow, then sorry, but I just thought I'd ask.

So what are you looking to sell those for? I have a friend that has a 93 that is intrested in a set of HID housings w/o bulbs and ballasts.

i'm not, i got these for my own car, my wife is always telling me how much better my headlights are in my 98, so now her 93 can have nice lights too.
jeremi i used a roll of adhesive backed metal tape. its almost like aluminum foil, but thicker, and its a pain to lay it in there without messing it up, you have one shot!

If you cant find the black plastic thing, send me a pic and a good one and I can likely make one for you at the machine shop. It might not be the exact same plastic material but should work.

yes they are, in the halogen housings, these are hid housings, way different low beam bulb then a standard 9005. kyle, thank you for the offer, i have a machine buddy 4 doors down from me, if he cant do something for me i'll let you take a stab at it. or if i get really bored, i'll try an make one myself. i will let you know, thanks.

i made my own ring, i used the one on the other housing as a template and used the plastic lid of a bowl to make another, lol it actually came out mint, only its blue, so what you cant see it, holds the high beam in perfect!

the heat wont get to it, its on the outside of the housing and all it does is keep pressure against the backside of the light bulb to keep it in the hole, where it touches doesnt even get hot, so it should be fine!

that supertech is for my 93, i go cheap in that car because my wife drives alot more then i drive my 98. i use mobil 5000 in my car, both cars get changed around the 3000 mile mark. i used mobil full syn in my 97 but after the price of oil changes and as often as i do them, im not blowing that kind of money on oil for 2 cars no way! supertech from walmart is just fine!! its oil and oil makes a motor happy.

You ever try that on a gen 1 non HID housing Jamie ?
