I was at Pep Boys last night and they have Sea Foam on sale for $5.99 for a pint, seems like a good price, the price point sign had the words price good until of 1/31/10 on it. It is usually $9.99 there.

Man that was the normal price not too long ago. That stuff has shot up in price since it spread like wildfire on the forums. I actually use AMSOIL power foam now. I think it does a better job.

its 9.99 here at autozone and advance, but i went in northern tool yesterday near my shop to stock up on electrical connectors and some other stuff and they have seafoam on a big display right near the register for same deal, 5.99 but its that price until its gone she said.

Newbie here, whats the big deal about seafoam ?

I bought some parts off ebay from a guy who was telling me about a method of revving the engine up, then sucking seafoam up a vacumn line.

Is that what this seafoam is used for ?

You can use it in the oil to help clean the engine sludge, and also use it through the intake to clean the valves [after which plugs usually need to be regapped and or replaced]. Also you can run it through the fuel system to clean the injectors... There are lots of uses for it, try using search here and you will find many stories here, or google it and find stuff out there in the WWW. Welcome to LOD! MOst people flame you for asking questions and not searching on your own, because search is so full of answers...

We're not most people... :D

It would have been nice to find seafoam at that price... I spent almost $100 just on seafoam... :fart:

Here is my take on seafoam having just used a lot of it... it works, it cleaned a lot of gunk out of the intake however, I suspect since I wound up having to take the intake apart anyway, that it would have been easier to clean had I not used the seafoam. My GUESS, is that the seafoam caused all the gunk to go from being basically dry carbon to this moist tar like goo... So rather then be able to just knock the carbon off with a wire brush, I really had to scrub and use almost as many cans of carb cleaner as I did seafoam.
