Seafoam for the Win!

your neighbors must f#&@ing hate you... :D

btw after like the 4th or 5th bottle, the smoke is all blue...

oh, the MK sounds good :D

I just did a whole can down thru the PCV and let it sit overnite. The poor guy across the street from me came down off his step later and started running towards my car when he saw the "fog" roll in. I am now also working off a full tank with a can and a half of Seafoam in it. Finally got the CEL off, hoping it stays off.

I hope you took it for a spirited drive to exercise the IMRCs afterwards. ;)

I think Joe holds the record for Seafoam usage though. :D

.....and where's THAT car now?

The dirt bag who bought it from me is selling it again, using all my pics, and then random pics he found online of all different red 2nd gens... no current pics of the actual car...

I have stopped using seafoam, or any other off the shelf fuel additives in my cars since I started using Shell vpower 93 fuel. That stuff works. :) My Mercedes had a lazy o2 sensor that would turn on a cel every time I got onto the interstate while running BP 93 fuel. Switched to Shell 93, and a tank or two later after clearing the code, the cel light never came on again. And yes, that SL runs like a champ with over 140k miles on it with the original o2's, and it passed all emission tests.

I just returned from a trip a week ago driving from Atlanta to Orlando and back in the little SL car, and it ran flawless in the Florida heat. I was a die hard BP 93 person for many years in both The Mark and the little car, and I am so glad I tried the Shell 93 and have not had to do the seafoam thing anymore.

I am not sure I am 100% on board with the gasoline story. My crown vis has 240k miles on the original O2s and everything else for that matter and its been getting the POS 87 Valero gas for years. I am still waiting on that CEL light to tell me to change them, since i have a spare set. I do change the fuel filter every 40-50k miles though.

Do you use any kind of fuel additives or seafoam, Max? I change the filters often too. My point - with the shell gas, I no longer use valvoline synthetic complete fuel system cleaner, seafoam, lucas, etc., that I used while putting bp 93 in the tank. I just put shell gas in the car now. That's it, and it has been working for me for over a year now in both cars. I even noticed no more excessive black carbon soot build up on The Mark's exhaust tips and bumper. :)

Don't forget guys...you two are a continent apart!!! Fuel formulation can be as different as different brands!

The formulation found in shell is not found in any other brand, regardless of where you live as far as I know. Call it hype or whatever, I really don't care, just as long as it works. It works in my cars. :) It also works in Wendy's van, and son's v6 mustang. He had a cel in his car too, and running the shell 87 keeps the cel off too. I was a seafoam believer, not a hater, and used it regularly. I just don't need it, or any other additive anymore. :)

Here is some info from shell about their fuel:
