there is a sensor that is under the drivers strut cover with two vacuum lines to it one goes to the little diaphragm mounted in the front of the engine, in front of the crank pulley and the the other goes into the back of the intake what are these two parts. reason i ask it i hear a hissing sound when that sensor opens and periodically through my daily drives this is a 98 LSC

Thats part of your emissions. The AIR system to be exact. It inject outside air into the exhaust at the manifolds. But this should not be on a 94 I thought.

should you be able to hear it and does it affect performance I am able to hear mine everytime the valve opens which is often

When I had one I dont think I ever hear it. I wonder if there is a leak at the pump? The pump can be a little loud. You should heat it engage every time the car starts. The pump is located opposite of the air-ride pump. Just behind the bumper and below the ABD pump.

ok i do her it everytime it starts it is a whistling sound kind sound like a high pitched jet engein but not near as loud. it is kinda right about asloud as hte air ride compressor

It is supposed to come on for a short period of time at start up only until engine reaches temp. It's a emissions control deal . Mine got lost, no big deal.
