RE: Separator plate gaskets!?

When i did the Jerry mod to the accumulator back in the day which comes with its own new gasket ring, My pan gasket was paper or cork material if i remember correctly. I now have a Ford rubber reusable seal on the pan. I dropped the pan every 8,000 to get the TC drained too.
Not sure if it helps or not, but get the rubber one that comes with the new filter. Now you don't have to worry about trashing the old one and having to take it off slowly. The rubber one just falls right off and wipe it with a clean rag.
By the way, I am selling the stocker tranny soon.

He's not talking about the tranny pan gasket.

Yea, you'll need the replace the gaskets that go between the valve bodyplates. They will tear when you try to remove them.

if you remove the valve body you will need to replace the separator plate gaskets. if you're just dropping the pan, you may or may not need to replace the pan gasket (depends on style). rubber pan gasket is reusable, cork is not.
