My Mark has always started up perfectly.
Recently the cranking time has increased, and especially on a hot-restart sometimes it would take 5-10 seconds to start.
I checked my fuel pressure, which was fine.
I then searched and found that many people had this issue and the crankshaft & camshaft sensors were known contributors.
I ordered a new crank & cam sensor from Ford. Took 45 min to install both...most of the time was to lower and reposition the AC compressor to r&r the crank sensor.
The car started right up and has been starting perfectly since then.
It is always nice to have simple fixes.
