So....I got up early today.

J

OCCUPY LoD :)
Well, after about 2 weeks straight of staying up until 2-3-4am and getting up at noon to do whatever, I decided to actually get up at a "normal persons" time, lol.

So....I got up at 8:45am and jumped in the shower, got on some work shorts and proceeded to spend the remainder of the morning hours mowing our 7/8 acre lot. We have a decent front yard thats square, a rectangle backyard with a huge shed in the middle and some horseshoe pits, and a 1/2 acre field in the back back. I started by mowing the back yard and that took probably an hour, after that I moved to the field, which is filled with trees, boats, cars, sheds, and 3 foot high stalky grass.

Let me tell you.....I would have had more fun trying to move rope, seriously. We have an old school riding mower, with a dead battery and a tire that I have to fill up each use. Every freakin time I hit some greenery the stupid thing would want to stall out(picture hearing a mower running but not being able to see anything, thats how HIGH my grass was, lmao). Luckily I only stalled it 4 times, which gave me a short break to stretch my legs....and get the stupid jumper box, haha.

After a 2 hours of getting stuck, stalling out, getting hit by bugs and weeds, getting a sun burn, moving around our parts cars and trailers, and having to deal with a one-legger differential I finally got the back done.

Next I went to move the front with the push mower and bag(keep it looking good). Before I started I grabbed the green waste garbage can and pulled it to the front for the bag dumps. I noticed my dad had trimmed the palm tree and a small cactus we have out front. I looked at the cactus...NO needles...sweet! I still picked them up carefully while wearing my "mechanix" gloves and stacked them in my left hand. After I got about 20 little "leaves" of cactus in my hand, I started feeling a tingly in my fingers........

To my dismay, the cactus still had the VERY small needles in the stupid "leaves"! Thank god I was wearing my mechanix gloves. I threw the cactus in the green waste and proceeded to the garbage can, where I tossed my gloves in the trash. :embarrassed: I went into my bathroom where the light was really good and attempted to pull out the needles with my fingernails. NO luck whatsoever...these hair thin POS's were barbed! :mad-tilt:

I had to use tweezers to get the 25-30 little tiny needles out of my fingers! :mad-tilt: Anyways......back to mowing, lol.

So...I mowed the front yard and gave it a cool "arrow" pattern and than proceeded to blow the back walkway and driveway off. Ahhh.....a much overdue mowing finally done, and hey look...I'd be getting up right about now, lmao!

Took another shower, at an ENTIRE Tombstone(ok...Duke got one full piece, hehe), and proceeded to a side job I was doing....89 E-150 w/5.8 removing broken w/p bolt from the block, which required removing the timing cover....fun stuff. :eek-large: 5 Hours later(and $350)...grabbed some Taco Bell, and came home and sat on my butt watching Survivor Man eat some Conk.

So.....thats what I do, if anyone was wondering. :rolleyes-green:

No mention of an afternoon nap? No day is complete without a good nap.

You know Trixie.......I haven't taken a afternoon nap in a few years. Once I get going on work...there's no stopping me.

Ugh, you don't wanna know my typical day.

Loved the cactus part! :lol3:

Haha, yeah...it was painful :mad-tilt: I'm sure you have a tough typical day, but this was just a story about how I got up early to get some crap done, got hurt and ended up working all freaken day. Today...I haven't done anything but drive to the parts store and pickup some brake parts for sunday's side job.

Well that will teach to not wake up early! LOL

What no pics?

Yeah....thats what I was thinking! I initially started this post just to vent about that stupid cactus and that I should have slept in, haha!

Jesse out of all people you should know this...
