Sold My Car

Rene

Lincoln Lady
. . . my Mustang, that is. The only car I ever bought new 11/25/88; sold on 10/23/09. When I watched her drive away, I told Brad "there goes my youth"!!

Next up: The VW.

Whatcha gonna drive whey they're all gone ? What's going on ?

The Mustang was sitting too much, so it was time to let go. The VW is going only because I don't want a car payment anymore. I'm working a temp job through most of January, and don't know if I'll become a permanent hire.

The Mark is staying :)

It's always a good idea to "keep" a mark around ;) Good luck to you then !!!

You'd know that for sure! I just tucked her away for her long winter nap.

The place I'm working at is really nice, so I'm crossing my fingers. Interesting products and nice people . . . the boss says he wants to keep me, but it's not just up to him ;)

WOW Rene, that must have been traumatic!

Yeah, it was pretty tough. Lots of great memories with family and friends in that car. Lots of dates with my then-boyfriend Brad! Lots of cruising . . . which you could still do "back then".

It's just not good to have one sitting that much ;)

Sorry to hear this Rene. That was a nice looking 1 owner car. More room in the garage now?

I'm glad you kept the Mark though.

That sucks, i wish i was able to hold on to previous cars i had. But some times you have to let them go.

wow, if that pic was recent that was a clean looking GT. sorry you had to let it go after so many years. i had a hard time letting my old GT go as well, it was my first v-8 car when i was young, it was also the first car i did all the body work on myself, and my first car i painted and my first engine rebuild, its tough to let go of such memories.

Kind of. We're letting a friend store one of his vehicles here this winter.

I did a lot to that car over the years! It was originally Medium Shadow Blue Metallic, much lighter than the color you see here. Just the LX wing on back, and no ground effects. Plain wheels, no cool stereo, no window tint. I have pics of it before I started changing things, but none in digital format.

The kid that bought it is a big fan of 80's music and cars, and he really wanted my car . . . makes it a bit easier to let go. His dad says he's very meticulous with all of his possessions, and says he's likely to continue to store it in the winter.

Wow Rene, so sorry to hear that. Gorgeous car.

I do miss her, but it was time. We used to both have Mustangs, and do a lot of local shows. After Brad sold his, mine didn't go out very much anymore. I do have lots of pics though!
