Hello,

I have a 95 linclon mark. The car has 120k miles on. I look and i see that people are putting the cobra heads on the motor. So my qestion is what should I do. Put a exhuast and try to do some perfomace things to the car or just get rid of the car and go after a mustang or something like that. I have been told that when the timing chain goes out that the pistens will hit the block of something and runen the engine so give me your inmput on things. And also if you could give me some good sites to get some parts off of that would be nice.:fart

Hi Tom,

A timing chain will last years longer than the Toyota's and Mazda or any other imports timing belts. Those cars have to change their timing belts before they reach 100,000 miles or they chance ruining their engine because their belt will break. You don't have that worry with the Mark VIII. We have members with double your mileage and are still running fine.

What is it you want your car to do? Have you explored this site? Start by looking at the Home page and explore the Tech/FAQ section. Is there anything WRONG with your vehicle? We need more information on what it is you would like to see your car do..... and how much money do you want to spend on it? There are lots of things you can do with your Mark, but lets just start by you exploring this web site and look at some of the other members posts. Look at their cars, then get back to us.

Welcome to the LOD web site!!

Thanks for the replays everybody. The car its self is in great shap. No major dents. My interior lights and door locks do not work becuase A moduel in the trunk went bad and i never persued it more. Right now i just have a stereo and some subs in the turnk. I guess I would just like to know what every body thinks the best things to do to these cars are. I do not want to go all out and rebuild the engine with cobra parts or anything like that, but maybe a exhuast system, or air filter set up. I have a good friend that sells performace chips so i might be able to get one cheap. I will try to post pics later.

Don't bother with a chip. You'll never be happy with the car as they can be probleamatic. My advise is for you to sell it and maybe some one who has the time and money will fix it up,

WHAT????

I have over 300,000 trouble free miles with my chip...of course it's not any chip. It's an SCT Chip with a proven calibration.

I am and have been quite happy with my current chip.

some of those I got in the past I wasn't really happy with, but..
IF you get the right chip from the right vendor.. you CANT GO WRONG.

You dont want to get a "cheap chip"..
You want to get something from one of the experienced SCT vendors.

Myself, I got the proracer package from SCT, which allows YOU to create and edit your own tune files, which goes along way in making these cars perform to their potential.

SCT ALL THE WAY!!!

Current ET and Mileage on my car tells the whole story.

I def want to keep the car so selling it is not a option.

I think i am just going to do some research about the car a little more then this spring when i get the car out again i will do some stuff to it
