Some track video

Daft Punk eh? haha ;)

Sweet vid. I didn't see pics of you installing the NAWS.

Great times on your mark!!! 12 second 1/4 miles are no joke.

I guess I could take some photos of the bottle in the trunk. The system itself is pretty well hidden unless you know what you are looking for, and I didn't take any photos of the install because I did the work over about 2 hours in the parking lot of my office.
There's actually many things done to the car that isn't well documented, photo wise, so I have to rely on some basic shots of simple things.

And I am not a huge Daft Punk fan but that track seemed to fit really well. :) It's nice to see that someone caught it.

Next year maybe I'll throw together a video of me chasing the 11s. I keep swearing that I am NOT looking for those speeds, but I know myself.

Thank you everybody for the kind words!

Nice times, Devin. :) Good luck trying the hit the 11's too. IMHO, Your stock block will be right on the edge of destruction, but could be done at least once :) I hurt my piston rings on one cylinder and lost some compression on my 100k stock motor during my 12.1 run last November.

Nice work Devin.

My car has been back together for couple of months now (fully forged bottom end- stock stroke) I have lots of build pictures, which are much nicer than the broken piston shots from earlier this year. I have yet to run down the quarter, but it sure feels faster NA. I have a dyno run planned , before I run the laughing gas again.

Take Care,
Bob

I completely agree with your assessment, and truthfully I never expected to see 12.5s in any event, so even at the moment I am on "bonus time".

I do have a few more tricks that should pull a tenth here or there. For example I have done hardly any exhaust work besides mufflers and a single exhaust cutout that is behind all 3 cats, the resonator and most of the single pipe. Uncorking it is good for making some noise but not much else. The 12.57 run was done with the exhaust FULLY closed.

I also have not yet welded up my sub-frame.

The weather this year hear has been INSANELY BAD, and that 12.57 run was at about 3000 foot adjusted altitude. In Oct and Nov I am hoping that some cool, dry days sitting under a nice high pressure system might add some time.

So, I guess what I am saying is that I do hope for a tenth or so gains but I will NOT be adding additional strain on the motor, as I am right with you in thinking that I am on the tottering edge of destruction as it is.

Nice work Devin.

Bob! I was just thinking about your car TODAY! I am glad you have it back together, I can't wait for some reports on power and runs. :) I am very glad that you are back on the road. Keep in touch, please!

Driller,

I wanted to go to the SC shootout bad, but unfortunately I am traveling this weekend to NY to help my brother with his new home. If the weather is good, I will run the car Friday, Oct 3 - test and tune.

Devin,

I hope my car is at least as quick as it was last year (high 12's). I will be pleased if it is because I thought the heavy forged rotating assembly could slow it down. Your 12's are amazing, I am doubtful mine will be that quick.

Two notes - one, without a more free breathing intake and exhaust, the cutout will not help that much.

Remember with nitrous, you are artificially changing your density altitude, and as such, cooler ambient temps will not help quite as much as otherwise - it will help, just not as much.
