Spare Tire Well

Will a full size spare fit into the tire well in the trunk of a '97 Mark VIII? Original size tire....225-60-R16? Just to save me the trouble of trying it.... thanks.

Sounds kinda simple, measure your tire and measure the trunk well, I know nobody likes a smart ass. lol.

I have a full sized spare in my trunk well...

The cover for the well didn't fit over the tire though, but the tire does indeed FIT inside the well.
My car came with a full sized spare when I got it, no doubt it was "Added" and wasn't factory..

But it's sure nice to have a matching wheel with a full sized spare.

I'd only have a 50/50 chance of it being a "matching wheel", but great, I think I can do with a rockin' cover.

Make sure you dont mount a directional tire on your directional wheel..


My spare cover had two little pieces of 2x4 held on with wood screws, that kept the cover from rocking or not sitting level.

Over time..I ditched the cover, because it got in the way of my tool box, that rides on top of the spare.
