SPECIAL EDITION TOWN CARS

Lincoln is famous for Spring "Feature" Cars, based upon the Town Car. They have been into this big time since 1990, or so. If anyone has anything to contribute here, I think we might be able to have seperate headings under TOWN CAR to seperate each (or include them all together in a single grouping).

Spinnaker Edition
Black Tie Affair
Jack Nicklaus Edition(s) ~ 2
Cypress Edition 1996 & 97
Cypress Edition 2001
Limited Edition 2003
Sail Boat Edition 1986
Diamond Anniversary Edition - 1996
2002 Pearlescent White & Parchment Gold Edition

I believe there may be 1 or 2 others, too.
If you are NOT SURE if you have one, post here details and I'll let you know.

RE: SPECIAL EDITION TOWN CARS

Ok I’ve got a question but you’re gonna have to go back a little farther for an answer for this 1.

77-79 not sure on the exact year 77 I think Cougar Tbird and TC had some kind of special edition done in a beautiful deep dark blue with a pumpkin orange (yuk) vinyl tops and interiors and trunklid luggage straps.

What was that all about?

RE: SPECIAL EDITION TOWN CARS

That sounds like my dad's last full size T-bird! I didn't realize it was a special edition, but it definitely was the "special" car that I'd ask to drive for special occasions. :)

RE: SPECIAL EDITION TOWN CARS

I've seen a lot of those Cape Cod Edition Town Cars floating around here... of course here being Cape Cod... :D

"Dealer Group Effort" (DGE) Not Factory, there are 1,000s of those type all around the USA. Palm Beach Edition is a bigeee, Cherry Blossom Edition down in D.C. ... Liberty Bell Edition in Phila, Pa. and others. Same dealer aftermarket junk on all of them, same story different cover on the book. Sim-Con Roof, Wheel Lip Mldgs, Chrome Rocker Panel Mldgs., Gold Ornamentation, and sometimes a fake tire on the back. Oh, and lets not forget the Holy Grail > The pin stripe!

RE: SPECIAL EDITION TOWN CARS

Yeah I knew it was a regional thing... but it's funny never the less... burgundy with beige or dark blue with beige seem to be the Cape Cod color standards. :D
