Speeding Up

While driving today I noticed that my car seems to be accelerating while in 2nd with my foot not on the pedal.It seems to be able to keep at a speed for a distance w/ hitting the gas pedal.Any suggestions?

You either have a sticking throttle or a sticking Intake Air Control valve or a vacuum leak. Humble guess.

Can you give more info? What is the idle speed? What year model? Any work done recently?

New fuel filter,took the air silencer out thats about it.As far as the idle my tach. isnt working so I have no idea.Its a 94 mark 100,000 mi

Check that the carpet isn't touching the accelerator peddle or linkage. I had this problem on my Olds.
