The club received the following email and I thought I'd see if anyone could help them out.

Gentlemen,

This Email is to ask if you know of anyone that may be able to provide information
regarding a small number of stainless steel Lincoln Town Cars test built at the
Wixom Assembly Plant about 1968.

We are three Body Process Engineers who worked at the Wixom Assembly Plant
during that time (now retired), and we prepared the Wixom Body Shop for the
production run of the stainless steel Lincolns. We believe they were all convertibles.

We recall the stainless steel quarter panels and fenders nested in racks waiting
for the Saturday special production run. We believe there were 30 sets of panels.

And, we believe 30 vehilces were built, but we are seeking to confirm our recollection.

We would be greatful if you know of anyone who may have historic knowledge of
these stainless steel Lincolns and be able to comment on the number built.

Thank you for any information you may be able to provide.

Please post here if you have any info and would like to contact the author.

I had an ex-Lincoln engineer that taught some of my engineering classes. Think he said he worked on torsion bars for some Lincolns. He was there about the 50's & 60's. I can't remember his first name, right off, but was a Mr. Belge (bell-gee).

Have you seen these cars in person
