steering shaft removal

I have this question in a thread on LVC but figured I would put it up here also. I am trying to remove the outer steering shaft but can't get it to move. Based on the LVC thread it is a slip fit over the inner shaft and requires pushing on a tab to slid it off. The problem is I can't find a "tab". I am sure someone here knows how to get it off. I tried searching and could not find anything. Tried the shop manual and again nothing. I am probably overlooking a minor detail.

Mine was replaced last Fall ...

Do you have a picture of the "tab"? I have notes (and some pics) from when mine was removed/replaced.

is this inside the car or out? Cause I swapped out my inside column awhile back due to the telescopic not working

Here's the pic I posted for him on LVC.

The tab (red circle) is pressed through a hole (green circle) to release the outer shaft.
