steering wheel question?

does anyone know what other vehicles i could get a steering wheel from for my 93? i know my mom's old escort wagon had the same wheel without the cruise switches. i know a mustang wheel is the same too but im not sure on the center hub whether it is a key way or splines, i need the keyway style. im looking for a black one, so if i know what other vehicles have the same wheel i can look easier in the junk yard.

Hey Jamie, I remember this thread from several years ago. A Ford Racing Mustang Steering Wheel was adapted to a 93. It might answer some questions for you:

Look under my very old thread i put up about redoing my entire interior. It was titled "project newskin" i think.
Yes the Mustang ones are splined and will fit. It's the outside plastic housing that is different style. Also, the bolt patterns are different but you can drill and tap in the new mustang wheel). (You have to buy the mustang rear steering wheel shroud plastic housing so the corners match). See my old pics. I had alot of comparison Mustang/Mark VIII side by side pics of steering wheel, with my old Mark 8 steering wheel and the new Mustang FR500 perforated leather one i installed in the Mark. Very minimal mods need to be done and rewiring to make the lights work on switches.

The Mustang FR500 new wheel was cheaper to buy that a new at the time Mark VIII wheel and is fatter, better hand stiched, and is all perf leather for like 194.00 cheaper.
