So like what does this mean? is this just left over crap from the sea foam and fuel injectors being cleaned?

Not a valve cover... it is the O rings around the spark plug holes... i believe...

But what you're looking at is oil in case you didn't know... nothing to do with seafoam.

Ok, thats what I figured. What part do I need to pick up tomorrow and how hard is it to replace via shop manual?

Well depending on what side of the engine it is on... i think the drivers side is the one that can't be taken off unless you move the engine... not an easy undertaking...

It's on the passenger side. closest one to the firewall. Driver side plugs look real good.

you are lucky son!!! passenger side is the easy one to remove. if its a first gen remove the air intake tube and take the valve cover off, if its a 97-98 take the intake tube off and the throttle body, then remove the valve cover. i dont think you'll be able to buy one side, they come in a pair, autozone carries them, you need a valve cover set with plug tower oil seals, i get fel-pro's cost about 70 bucks for the complete set. the valve cover gasket is like a rubber ribbon gasket, and under the valve cover, where the 4 plug holes come through the valve cover are 4 oil seals that stops the engine oil from leaking into the spark plug journals, not a catastophe but can wreck your coil pack boots and cause spark arc if not fixed. pass side isnt bad to do though just be patient.

I will be patient for sure, thanks for the direct info Jamie. Is there any special tool or lube I will need. Hopefully I can just remove them by hand.

ok, cause its leaking a bit on both sides. i have an engine hoist if i need to pull it up a little to one side.

you don't have to, its just a pain in the arse either way.

I've had oil in the spark plugs twice, the passanger side is just annoying. Its very stubborn to remove but I could get it without moving anything, the drivers side I needed to remove the break booster from the inside of the car. To figure that out was ANNOYING.

So I ended up ordering new coil packs, wires, seals, and forgot to ask about them, but new vacuum lines for egr components. The old ones cracked after I man handled them a little bit.

One more quicky, the manual says "Apply 8mm diameter drop of WSE-M4G323-A1 sealer to front cover gasket at cam cover gasket intersection 4 places 2 per cam cover" Is this necessary?

And am I going to need to drain some oil? Or should I be ok without motor running?

The engines that I worked on never needed that but it may be a good pre-cautionary measure in case you drop some crap in the oil.

Also the sealant is necessary...
