Recap
The car went .46-.50 on the first session
Second session went .35-46.
I decide to paint 9.40 on the car for round 1

21 cars entered into round 1 of Street Stock

I getleft lane paired with a mid 90's Fox Body
Round 1
Dial in 9.40 to 9.00
RT .2112--- .3677 {SNOOOZE FEST!!!}
60 2.16 --- 2.44
330 6.14 --- 6.22
1/8 9.58*--- 9.34
MPH 63.80*--- 78.56
off Dial .180--- .344
MOV - .3210 left lane
*I hit the brakes about 20 feet before the finish, as my opponent was no where close. I ran almost .2 off my dial and he was still THREE CAR LENGTHS BACK!!!!

37 minutes later they call us for Round 2
I get paired with one of the Jackpot Racers that uses our class for time trials between his money race rounds.
He's a good racer who NAILS the tree and runs very close to his dial in. I have my work cut out for me!!
Once again I get sent to the left lane and the truck goes to the right lane.

Since the 9.40 dial in carried me well in the first round I decide to "LET IT RIDE!"
*begin mental mind games*
I tell my opponent, "as soon as I lose this round, I get to go eat!!"
Hoping to make him feel as if I've already lost this race, before it even starts, and maybe to spark a little overconfidence on his part!
*he he he*

Round 2
Dial in 9.40 8.53 {pretty quick truck..huh?}
RT .026 *BAM!* -.043 RED *BUZZER SOUNDS*
60 2.17 ---- 1.85
330 6.14 ---- 5.48
1/8 9.394 ---- 8.58
MPH 75.87 ---- 78.41
Since my opponent redlit, I ran the car out the back door and ran a 9.394 on a 9.40 dial in {.0055 too quick, makes a NOTE of that!}

37 minutes later they call us for round 3
we're down to 6 cars TWO of which are Lightning Trucks and TWO Lincoln Mark 8's.. I get paired up with yet another HOT SHOE who has WON this points series before.

Once again I get sent to the "Lucky Left Lane" with my trusty 9.40 dial in!!
My opponent is driving a Lightning Truck and has been known to NAIL people to the TREE!

Round 3
Dial in 9.40 ---7.69 {what is with these FAST TRUCKS????}
RT .047 --- .171 *oops*
60 2.15 --- 1.72
330 6.111 --- 5.01
1/8 9.418* --- 7.79
MPH 70.08* --- 88.25
Off Dial.018 --- .102
MOV .207
* Since I had tree'd the crap out of my opponent and he was 2 cars behind me at the finish line I instinctively dipped the brakes before crossing the line*
WIN LIGHT LINCOLN IN THE LUCKY LEFT LANE!!!!!!

30 minutes later they call us for ROUND 4.. THE SEMI FINALS
We're down to THREE CARS, well TWO CARS and a TRUCK!
TWO Lincoln Mark 8's and one lonely Lightning!!!
They draw cards to see who gets to RACE and who gets the BYE RUN into the FINAL ROUND!
Lady Luck frowned on the Lightning and paird him up with TIFFANY
Tommy Draws the BYE run and will get a FREE PASS into the Finals!

I watch as they run Tiffany and the Lightning first.
WIN LIGHT BURNS BRIGHT in TIFFANY'S LANE!
I'm estatic as I stage the car for my FREEBIE!
RT .0090 *!!!!!!*
60 2.17
330 6.12
1/8 9.385
MPH 75.80
Off Dial -.0145

Final round is SET
I get to race Tiffany!
ALL LINCOLN!
ALL CRAZY 8's FINAL ROUND!!!

to me it doen't matter, WIN OR LOSE!

15 minutes later they call Tiff and I to the lanes
the 9.40 that tiffany painted on my car before round 1 has served me well, so once again I decide to LET IT RIDE!!!

Tiffany dials a 9.52
I give Tiff lane choice, she picks right lane, so..I drive over to the LUCKY LEFT LANE!

Dial in 9.40 --- 9.52 {the tree will be CLOSE}
RT .1027 ---- .1076 { we took turns NAPPING!!!}
60 2.18 --- 2.26
330 6.16 --- 6.29
1/8 9.43 --- 9.57
MPH 76.08 -----76.39
OFF DIAL .0338 .0557
MOV .0268 LEFT

We both cut crappy lights due to neither of us wanting to redlight with the lights being "so close".
Our crappy lights were "equal" so it was a race down to the line.
I saw tiffs car nose over, {she'd let off} and I hit the brakes right AT/ON the finish line.
Since Tiff knew I was at the verge of breaking out all night long, she ran me all the way to the stripe and eased out of the gas.
Had we gotten 30 minutes cool down rather than 15, she would have "DUMPED ME" at the line and WON. but since we didn't get as much cool down as the round before, our dials were "SAFE".

I got the WIN, Tiff got Runners up.
This was our first WIN in 2005 and we brought home BOTH Trophies!!!!

Season Recap
Tiff missed the first race due to not feeling well
I made it to the semi's and lost at the first race

Second Race, Tiff and I made it to the Semi Final Round and lost.

Third Race Tom wins, Tiff Runners UP!

So far that puts me into Second Place in points, only 14 points out of First Place and that puts Tiff into a TIE for 4th Place with one of the Lightnings!!

SO far.. SO good for 2005!
Crazy 8's gave em a 1-2 Punch on APRIL FOOLS DAY!!!!

I know.. I couple of them SUCKED real bad!

Figures I'd cut my BEST RT during my BYE run.. .009 {shakes head}

RE: Street Stock Winner AND Runner up! 04-01-05

Anytime your RT is 0.0xx that's plenty good in my book! :D

I struggle to get 0.1xx RTs. That's been my biggest concern in trying out bracket racing. Well, that and having a clue where to 'dial in' at. ::roll::

It's not as hard as you might think...

Cool down 30 min., make 2 passes.
Repeat as needed.

The first pass will give you your "cold" number, second pass will be a "hot" number. Think of it this way... First Time Trial is your Round One "dial in" Second Time Trial would be your "Round Robin" (as in "right back to the lanes") "dial in".

Look at all the first passes in your 2 pass sets. You'll see what I mean. They'll be close... just pick one, paint it on the car and GO WIN! Oh and repeat as needed! ;)

Just make sure you do everything the same each pass.
That is the BIG KEY!

Here's an example from this past Fridays race...

My first passes from my sets...
9.47 and 9.52
I dial right in the middle with a 9.50 for round one.
I ended up running 9.48, that's pretty close. And good enough I WON that round.
Round two... since I had just ran a 9.48 the round before, I dialed a 9.47 to be safe. I ran that 9.47 and continued on with the race.

Just listen to what the car says... it'll take some time but you'll get it down and then we'll be reading your "Trophy Story"!!!
:7

GOOD LUCK AT THE RACES!!!

RE: Street Stock Winner AND Runner up! 04-01-05

Thanks Tiffany... you explained it well enough to truly make it sound easy! :)

No problem! Anytime you have question, just ASK! I'll do my best to answer it.

It's kind of funny... I read my post over and over trying to see if it would make sense to someone just starting out. And after a few ::wtf:: it seemed to make sense.

It's one of those things that is much easier to "show" than "say"...

Anyway... good luck again, and be sure to keep us posted on your races!
