i bought a 95 Mark V8, the car already has the conv kit to delete the air bags in it already. i geting close to replacing the struts and shocks. does anyone make a nice strut for the front without the air bag? i can go back to the compaines that do the conv kits but was thinking about trying to find more aftermarket/performance? i see a few posts about Koni adjustable but looks like the don't offer the fronts any longer. any input would be great and i would like to kit my springs since i like my current ride height. thanks..

Strutmasters sells air struts. Koni's are discontinued I believe. You're looking at more of a replacement brand that isn't adjustable, or find some original replacements (I can get a full used set, front/rear bags for $150 if you're interested) and fix the air suspension. It's very common for the car to only need a compressor relay or something small but people get talked into the conversion kit instead.

no don't want the air bags back... the car has aftermarket struts/springs in it but they are getting to wear i need to replace them. i was hoping to find something better then strutmaster replacement struts/shocks if possible.

Pretty sure 97 T-Bird springs will work since you've already converted. I know T-bird struts fit but you have to cut off the top of the strut stud after install because it sticks up too high. 97 Cougar springs or even 99 Cobra springs will fit in the back.

i would like to just replace the struts and shocks only. since the car already has the conversation done and i do like the current ride height i don't want to replace the springs i have. so i can buy struts from a t-bird for the front and keep my current springs... ???

Yes, purchase front shocks for a t-bird. If you're looking for quality, Tokico blue is a good alternative.

Sorry, in post #4 you said struts/springs. Jeremi, it's true you have to cut off the top of the strut right? Or was I reading that in some Koni shock thread?

it's true you have to cut off the top of the strut right?

The only reason for that would the shock shaft interference with the tower covers, if such was encountered ;) I'd rather drill in the plastic cover though, or delete the covers all together.
