Super Bowl XXXIX

What a great game, huh? Go Pats! I can't believe they did it again. Bill Belichick is a genius, and Tom Brady is the most clutch player in the league....when all is said and done, maybe EVER.

So....let's see if they can do it again next year, and make it 4 out 0f 5 and 3 straight.

I personally knew Tom Brady was special about 3 or 4 games after he took over for Drew Bledsoe. Of course, as a Pats fan, I could be a little biased. ;)

RE: Super Bowl XXXIX

It was a good game, it was not a blowout from the start. There were times when I thought that the eagles could win it

RE: Super Bowl XXXIX

I'm still trying to figure out the Eagles clock management at the end of the game. They needed to score at least twice with 5 minutes left and they didn't seem to be in any kind of hurry up. It seemed like they'd already given up.

Scott you did not miss anything. There was no wardrobe malfunction this year.

I know we did not think anything unusual about it, but this Super Bowl proudly presented the US military, both veterans and active members, with Paul McCartney singing "Live and Let Die" at half-time. You must wonder what kind of image non-western people get of us when they see this.

John Elway is more clutch than Brady.

Brady isn't even the best quarterback in the league right now.

As you can tell, I'm not a Brady fan...

RE: Super Bowl XXXIX

How anyone can claim that Brady isn't the best quarterback in the league right now is beyond me. Give him Harrison, Stokely, Wayne, James, and Clark, and he'd have a field day against any defense.

Do you think Brady is at least # 2 behind Manning?

RE: Super Bowl XXXIX

Scott,
You are the only guy I know with a 42" plasma that didn't watch the game.

Of course, you are the only other guy I know that has a 42" plasma, but still...come on man!

RE: Super Bowl XXXIX

I refuse to watch any professional sports games. I'm sick of overpaid douche bags doing whatever they want and getting away with it.

Sorry for the thread crap, but I had to say it!

Yes...Manning was the one I had in mind.

And yeah, he's a choker, so it depends on what your definition of "best" is.

Part of my definition of "best" certainly includes not choking.

I'd still take Elway any day of the week and twice on Sundays...especially Sundays.

I'm not an Elway fan either. I thoroughly enjoyed the pounding he took from the Raiders during the 90's.

RE: Super Bowl XXXIX

There are (and have been) a lot of great quarterbacks in the NFL, Elway was definately one of them. I've been watching Brady since he took over for Bledsoe, and I've know that he was special since then. He was a sixth round pick, and believe it or not, with 3 Superbowl rings and two SuperBowl MVPs to his name, he still holds a grudge over being considered a back-up quarterback at best. He works harder than anyone in the league, and has improved every year. Oh yeah, he's only 27 too. Right now, I see very few weaknesses in his game. I personally wouldn't trade him at this point for anyone in the league, past or present. That's just me though. Maybe in 10 years we'll say he was a fluke. Or maybe he'll be considered the best/most clutch ever. Right now, it's hard for anyone to say.
