Ok, I was doing some research on A/C and Refrigeration history at my A/C classes. And I found out the first "BoxTruck" used Nitrogen (Now Nitrogen is used for cleaning out drain lines / refrigerant - capilary tubes) In a tank. Compressed as a liquid in a container. There was a line that left the tank, through whats called an "evaporator" coil (Where the liquid changes state to a vapor/gas and gets really cold) A fan blows across this coil and cold air was the result. But after it looped through the coil a couple times it simply vented to the outside air.
Now, Ive been thinking of fabricating a miniature version of this for the intake air to run through a small coil that gets very cold. Could decrease your intake air up to 20 degrees (In 80+ degrees F). If its colder outside then it would work even better. Now, granted it would not work as good as nitrous, this can be a permanent setup that would be safe and effective for a stock engine. Refilling nitrogen could be a pain, but you could put it on a switch.
Tell me what you think.
