Swapping seat cushions

Someone recently said that the passenger's seat cushions can be modified to work on the drivers side. I think it was Jeremi. What modifications need to be made? I do not have heated seats.

You can do the seat backs without too much trouble. The bottoms are a no go due to the inner part being made out of velour type fabric, and not leather.

Actually, the baacks dont interchange very well either due to the opposite hinge points.

They interchanged just fine on 6 or so seats I've done. The hinge gets covered without any issues. You can use the foams just fine as well, just cutting out a piece around the hinge and transferring it over to the other side, using spray foam glue. The only potential problem is the hole for the safety release, but easily remedied.

Is the seat bottom foam material different between the driver's and passenger's side?

Yes, it has more areas that need to be cut and shaped to fit the other side.

Nothing beats a perfectly shaped driver's side seat though. :D

My bolster areas need to be reinforced. Trying to decide the easiest route. Either build it up with some foam or make a passenger one fit. Obviously finding perfect driver's seat foam would be nice, but unlikely.

Repairing your broken up foam will be difficult. Have you taken it apart yet ?

Seat back foam is a super easy swap. Finding a perfect pass. foam is easy. Just do it. Ask Joe, I did his car and the CE he bought as well. The driver's seat felt so new, it's almost uncomfortable :)
