Tach stopped working

My tachometer just stopped working, i was wondering if this a common failure or if there is an easy fix. Thanks for reading.

Welcome!

Often times it's just the face of the gage that slides down and touches the shaft for the needle. Take it apart and check it out.

Its not a common failure really...unless you own a 95 T-bird with 220million miles on it.

I can shoot you the electrical diagram if you want to test and make sure the Tach is still getting the appropriate signal.

Go here and get your gages extracted as per instructions. Then once you have taken the plastic face off see if the sticker(tach face with numbers) hasn't slid down or bubbled to hit the tach needle or shaft. You can remove the tack needle by taking a fork and placing it behind the needle and gently pull it off the stem. When reinstalling needle just make sure you pay attention to postion it at zero.
