The KING'S Lincoln

This 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark 2 was purchased brand new by Elvis Presley in August of 1956. Elvis drove this car often up until he went into the U.S. Army in 1958. Many photos of Elvis with this car can be found by doing an internet search (just type Elvis Presley 1956 Lincoln Continental) but those are mostly copyrighted, thus I cannot include them with this posting, as much as I would like to.
Elvis traded the car off later on, and it went through a series of owners afterwards. It was more recently on display at Graceland for a number of years, but the car was actually on loan by the owners of it. Graceland finally purchased it not long ago, so I guess you could say the car is finally home for good.
The car was on display at Charlotte Motor Speedway April 4 thru 7, 2013. The occasion was an annual event known as the Food Lion Auto Fair, which draws about 100,000 visitors to the track each year. This year's schedule there included an Elvis Tribute Artist contest, so that's why the car was sent there.
I transported the car from Graceland (and back) on behalf of the trucking company I am employed with, so I thought I'd share a couple of photos with all of you here…
