The Next "Another Air Ride Issue"

I replaced the front struts approximately 3 1/2 years ago on the '97 Mark. Perhaps 35,000 miles later I was experiencing issues with ride height on the left rear and assumed the left rear was leaking.

So I decided that I should just replace all the solenoids with the new ones from Arnott. The cost was reasonable and they are making new ones for the Mark VIIIs instead of reconditioned ones.

I started with the left front. I removed the existing solenoid and tried to install the new solenoid. The operative word here is "TRIED" to install. For some reason the solenoid would not go in far enough to the make the final turn to lock in place.

No matter what I did it just would not go up and in all the way. So, I tried to put back the one I just removed and it would also no go back in place either. I have changed out the solenoids several times over the past ten years and I have never encoutered this problem.

I did not go any further with the other three wheels.

Anyone ever run into this problem before and know what I might be doing wrong?
