Ticking sound - very strange

I searched this forum and found nothing that seems to be whats happening to me. I hear a ticking sound coming from the pedal area, when lightly accelerating it seams to tick often and faster but the more of a 'load' i put on it - seems to make it fade away (then comes back when i decelerate) i know for a fact its not a valve/belt or exhaust, sounds like a vacuum leak (a real bad one) ,that i cant find. i dont seem to lose power but is very annoying - has anyone else experienced this? or know what kind of vacuum hose it may be?
 
egr tube probably has a split in it where the tube is perforated . they did this so it would flex with the engine movement, but over time they develop a split, and it will sound like a ticking . it can be very hard to pinpoint it, its a very common problem.
 
drivers side of the engine, between the engine and the firewall...
which is why you hear the ticking sound coming from down by the brake pedal.

If you stick your head down by the front fender well, you should hear it if it's the EGR tube leaking.

it's not impossible to change, but it'd definately not "a fun job"
