tire size question

I need new rear tires on my '94 Mark VIII. I have the stock size right now (225 60 16) and that size will remain in the front. I wouldn't mind something wider, 235 or 245 but not sure if it is a bad idea. I'd of course want wider tires all round but at the moment the fronts are practically brand new and I don;t need to drop the extra cash right now. So, I could end up having 225's on the front and 235/245's on the back.
How might it affect handling, mileage, traction control etc.

Appreciate and thoughts/ideas.

Thanks-

RE: tire size question

you can go wider on the rear but keep the same overall diameter which would call for a 245/55/16
you will find limited brands in this size and they will be pricey
michlin, perelli and toyo make this size
