Took her to the dragway - VIDS

mark viii fron stock to ?

mark viii fron stock to ?

I am going to keep records and set up a post with all my mark viis progress from stock to where ever i get it to. i just tooks the resonator and the 3rd cat out gained a 10th in the 1/8 mile. thought it was slower but turned out to be faster i will post the slips and do another dyno next or the one after. my goal is to have a dyno run and track time for every little change i do so we have a record of what each mods produces any little tips or idea anyone had but did not want to try let me know i may be up for it

That GT couldn't recover from his terrible launch.

You need to record air data as well in order to correct your ETs to sea level to be able to accurately track performance changes. Basically you need to be able to calculate density altitude. Track elevation, temperature, baraometric pressure and humidity are the variables you need to track. You can do it post-race by going to wunderground.com.

Yes they mustang never broke tens all night. so i raced him thought it would make a good video
first time at the track only the air silencer removed

9.9585 et 1/8 72.46mph
tempature 41.0 °F / 5.0 °C
dew point 21.9 °F / 5.6 °C
humidity 47%
sealevel pressure 30.02 in / 1016.5 hPa
wind Calm

Second time at the track I removed the resonator
and third cat

Density altitude = Actual elevation - 1253'

You picked up a good bit from the first run according to those numbers - you were a tenth faster in the eighth despite the density altitude being about 1000' higher. ;)

With how many red lights you're activating, you might want to start a porno shop.:p

Bah. Red lights in test and tune don't mean nothing except training. A red light only counts in eliminations. ;)

I usually tell myself if I'm not red-lighting every once in a while - I'm not trying hard enough. :D

very cool!

Funny how you think the car slowed down when it actually sped up.

Proof positive that the "butt-0-meter" is often misleading.

I found a cool little database program that you can input your runs, the weather conditions and it'll "correct" the ET's for you.. plus keep all your timeslips in an easy to view interface.

Driller, can you post your email address?
I can send you that .exe file.. I dont think I can post it as an attachment.
it's very small too.

I FOUND the original download location....haha
download it here

That looks like a neat little program. That would be cool to have on my Palm or my Blackberry! :D

no red lights not even one i will post the slips
I couldn't see the tree in the vids but because you were killing everyone at the line, I figured you must have been cheating the launch. Nice job if no red lights.

Test and tune seems like a fine time to work on the tree, don't you think Driller?

Yes and no.

A REAL test and tune is exactly what it says, testing different items and tuning for the best or most consistent results. This may or may not include worrying about the tree.

I generally do not concern myself with the tree if I'm truly testing and tuning. But there are times where I do actually tune myself and the staging of the car to get the best reaction time.

As a general rule, I have found repetition to give the best results at the tree if practiced with consistency.

During TNT I generally try to duplicate my exact racing procedure.

At my last TNT race I generally "wasn't trying to kill the tree" but wound up with some good RT's non the less. .020-.035.

I was battling traction issues yet still cutting decent lights.

Kracker, you need to enter that car into one of the bracket races out there.
Your "killing folks" off the line!

See if you can figure out when the next bracket race is up there.

We (here in houston) have one coming up March 14th at Angleton Raceway
www.angletonraceway.com
It's going to be a "Street Stock" bracket points series, run twice a month.
Street Stock Rules "no electronic starting line aids", "DOT tires" "tagged and inspected".
pretty simple and straightforward

If you wanna come run Street Stock with us Lemme know!
