Town Car - 2003

Well, I tend to think that nobody will be in this hallway. So, just to put something here, I sold my 1998 Mark VIII and have on order a 2003 Town Car Cartier Limited Edition. It has no options, simply because there are NO options on it. Lincoln put everything they have on it. It's in a color exclusive to this mid-year model. It's a metallic green (light in shade) with a most unusual black-flake metallic in the light green, and also alot of cream in the green. Pretty hard to describe. Interior is "Latte" the color of a cup of coffee with waaay to much milk in it. Should arrive at Maplecrest Lincoln-Mercury < http://www.maplecrest-lm.com > on or about April 12 to 15th.
Of ALL the makes & Models of cars catagorized as "Luxury Cars" this is the cheapest one that can be had. Like "Entry Level Luxury Car" :)

greenKIN arrives at Maplecrest Lincoln-Merdcury on Monday, April 7th. I WILL BE THERE ..... You can make book ON THAT! I think I am really gonna love it. Not to draw anyone's blood, but it reminds me of my deceased folks many Imperials. Hey, I guess at age 56 I am NOW my parents :) (U kno what I mean) ~~

RE: Town Car - 2003

I love the new Town Cars. I sat in a couple at the St. Louis Auto Show, and damn were they nice. A little too pricey for my budget and not sporty enough for my current tastes, but a fine car nonetheless. I am dropping little hints here and there to try to get my mother interested in one, though ;)

That "limited edition" sounds like a really neat package, I can't wait to see the pics.

RE: Town Car - 2003

I rented an 03 Towncar a couple of weeks ago in Florida.
In 2001 I inherted a 99 TC with 16k miles that I drove for 6 months before selling.
There is no better lux car IMO.
It amased me how at a red light you could never tell the car was even running.
I also noticed (as well as my girlfriend) that I didn't drive nearly as agressivly as I usually do.
A car like that will keep you out of trouble.
Good luck with it !!

RE: Town Car - 2003

It's truly funny how the folks 12 years younger than I (making them around 44, OR YOUNGER) percieve the Town Car & deVille to be SO HUGE! I looked up the overall length of the '03 T/C and it's 215 inches long, or 17 feet & 9 inches. Then, I looked up the length of the 1978 Imperial (my folks last one) and it was 232 inches or 19 feet & 3 inches long. NOW THAT'S LOOOONG....that's huge, yet in its day, it was considered a big car, it was not considered HUGE. Funny how times change. This here Town Car is the size of a full sized Mercury of 1978. It's also a foot & a half shorter than the 1978 Imperial & Cadillac Fleetwood.

RE: Town Car - 2003

My grandfather has a new TC and it is a great car. Maybe in a few years I can afford a new one. I truely love them.

RE: Town Car - 2003

Here goes Scott talking about his dad's cars again....

I love the Town Cars. Sometimes I'd rather have a T/C than my Mark VIII. I like the combination of power and big cars...except for my Mustangs. :)

As for the length of the T/C and such, my Mark VIII is the same length as my mom's 2003 Explorer Sport. Hehe.

RE: Town Car - 2003

Congrats Sandy! :D An excellent choice if I may say so. I was wondering did they offer the long wheelbase as an option? Having now logged many more miles then I'd like to even think about driving Town Car sedans around, I can say a few things with authority. One, should you ever feel so inclined, switch off the T/C... I guarantee your Town Car will provide you with some impressive dry pavement doughnuts, or at very least a good old fashion smoky burnout... Two, for those of you who think these cars aren't particularly "sporty"... I'll admit that there is a lot of body roll, but I can say from experience that a skilled driver can hustle one of these cars around the twisties, or other various road obstacles (traffic), with a surprising amount of alacrity. }>

Just remember if the factory 6" long wheel base isn't quite long enough for you, I know plenty of places that would love to cut your car in half and add say, 60", 72", 96", 120" or even my personal favorite... 312". Although you may (will definitely) need a CDL to legally drive your new 44 foot long Town Car, I'm sure if you were willing to pay for the 312" package, they would through in the hot tub and reverse angle cameras for free. :p

RE: Town Car - 2003

The FACTORY extended "L" model is only available on the Base Model "Executive" and on the "Cartier" model. It is NOT available in combination with the Cartier LIMITED package (code 54L). I would not want the longer version. I have no need for it, and furthermore the Factory Installed Power Glass MoonRoof is NOT available on "L" models.

The Limited package includes the 2004 style 17" wheels, the premium "Nudo Leather interior with perforated holes in seating surfaces, custom embrioardary on seat backs of LIMITED" as well as matching floor mats, Simulated wool carpeting, additional interior burlwood accents, LIMITED EDITION dash plaque with production #, A unique model specific grille of 2004 design, a 2004 pull-ahead color of Seascape Green, Remote close trunk lid operated from key fob, fog lights, HID headlamps, "C" Pillar LIMITED nameplate, Power Glass MoonRoof, Trunk Mounted 10 Disc CD Autochanger and a Gift Kit.

RE: Town Car - 2003

I own a shop in S. Florida, and have put moonroofs, video monitor systems, and a ton of other items in these cars.I build the monitors into the headrests, they look so factory the dealership sends the cars to me and has me do their installs. Anyways I could not believe seeing pictures of the 65-foot patriot again. I just restored that car for a guy in N. Carolina....what a piece of $#@%. You can only polish a tird so much... I have amazing photos of before and after, if I can figure out how to get it to post.... and only as a realist....312 inches is inaccurate. 260"inches is max. for excursions, and 180" is max for sedans. I've done a couple of "double cuts" which is a factory 6" and added 6" behind rear door.... Killer.. That allows for when getting in rear doors all you see is floor then sit back in the seat..... 6" is a lot more room than you'd think. I just did a 10" hummer stretch for Martin Lawrence.. when he was filming Bad Boys II in miami he bought a hummer From the caddy dealer, and jokingly said "only if it where a little roomier inside and secluded in the rear..... well $40,000 later BAADDDDD. Well anyways glad to see there are town-car guys out there too, Rob
