This is a bit of a shot in the dark but if the TC and Crown Vic are anything like the mark and T bird...
you guys NEED to have this info.
I upgraded the front shocks at 125k miles to police units that only cost $25 each and they have been holding up great. The car is still not bouncy at 182k miles. The rear was another story...
I used Monroe Sensa Tracs WORST shocks ever... they got so SOFT and bouncy that the car became dangerous to drive (please note the springs were upgraded to police springs also at 125k miles, 2 years ago). These are only 2 year old shocks.... clearly significantly inferior to ford OEM components.
I replaced them with KYB gas-a-just that i got from rockauto. They are PERFECT for the car. No more bounces if you go over speed bumps car is very well planted to the road and it basically feels like a new car. I would highly recommend these shocks because they still retain a good ride quality!!! They are about 37.95 each or so. Money very well spent.
