Town Car Theatre?

Who did I see that has the Town car with the dual rear seat head rest dvd players? Is it a factory upgrade or aftermarket? Either way, how much would that upgrade cost me? Im looking to trade the Navigator in for a black 05 TC signature I found in MA but I love the quiet while driving with the kids when they are watching a movie. Not sure I want to give that up! May end up putting the Navigator up for sale if the dealership doesnt want to step up.

Driller (JP) Has a fully loaded version very similar to that one... I think it may have been an option.

Just an FYI, I had an awful Herb Chambers experience when I bought the current DTS...

get everything in writing! what they agree the value of the TC is.. what they will give you in trade, every number needs to be in writing, a hand shake means nothing...

I had a friend have a kind of lousy experience buying a ford explorer there too.

Well, it does'nt matter because they are apparently also bad at updating their inventory online. My buddy works at Herb Chambers Toyota in Auburn and he was gonna get the car to his place to sell it to me but it was sold over a week ago. On top of that, they were not gonna budge on the price and not give me what I wanted for a trade. My friend told me there was nothing he could do and the prices were set! What kind of dealer says that?

Still want a nice Town car though I think. The Nav is killing me in fuel costs. Thanks for the heads up though guys!:D

You'll never save enough money by trading that SUV to another V8 powered car. You should consider an older 4 banger for "money savings"

That sounds like a typical Californian response.:D

Get a nice Gen 1 Mark VIII. Luxury AND 30 mpg Highway.:)

Not everyone does 55 on the Interstate... :p

The kind that you should stay away from... just as well... I dunno if they have any TCs but I have had excellent luck with Tracy Chevy/Caddy in Plymouth. If I ever wind up in a position to buy another new Cadillac, it will be from them.

BTW, what is the price of earth killing dead dinosaur goo over there on the island...? :p

I think I could live with 19mpg. I rarely drive my car on the highway since I live on the island. Thats what the Mark is for :p

I will have to check into that dealer you speak of sir.

As far as the price of fuel, its about 3.90 a gallon for premium.

Really? 30mpg? My Gen 1 averaged 21-22 and my gen 2 with gears did 15-16.

It all depends on where you drive etc, no one averages 30 unless they go 65mph all the time.

Arguing about gas mileage is stupid, there are way too many ppl that claim that they get unattainable numbers and averages vary. If he gets 11 in a navi he will get 18 in the TC like he stated.

Also changing cars for money savings needs to be a very strict calculation factoring in depreciation/insurance/mpg/ upfront costs and a breakeven point.

Its just simple math.

Exactly what I tell people who want to trade in their car for a new hybrid just "to save money".

I never said 30 mpg average, I said 30 mpg highway.

If you ask me, average is useless, as it changes with traffic, roads, speeds, traffic lights.......

Come on, average is the only way to figure mileage! What NORMAL person ONLY travels the hiway? With MOST people, they travel mostly city/village/urban roads MUCH more than strictly hiways (ie interstates).

Maybe, but yours, mine and Max's averages would not be very comparable would they.

I like to look at highway averages on long trips, doing the speed limit and up to 5 over (I don't like to do more than 5 over in foreign States:)). I think that is the most repeatable.

I'm not sure if Max's highway would be very comparable either, I've been on some California highways.:D

I would never buy a hybrid!!!! :p

18 or 19 mpg on roads that don't exceed 45mph anywhere on the island would be good enough for me. Its about what I was getting back when I was driving the Mark "on island".
