Tranny mount

I just had the tranny rebuilt...AGAIN...and found out that the mount is broken. I called AutoZone, PepBoys, and two dealers and they say they can't get one. I also checked Ebay and nothing.

Where could a guy get another tranny mount?

Mustang one fits with very minor modification, you could also try the Cougar mount.

Thanks, I'll look into that. What modification needs to be done with the mustang mount?

A 1996 Mustang GT transmission mount is a direct fit and most people have them in stock....it will be a solid mount instead of a fluid filled.

Not sure, some of the fluid filled mounts are very wierd, but I don't picture it having bearings.

It is wierd, the guy tipped the cross member and all these BB's came falling out from a crevis under the mount.

Oh, I just got back from trying to pick up my car from getting the tranny R&R'd. It's doing the same thing it was before, only worse it seems.

There's no long lag between R and D any more but the shifts are still weak and overdrive acts wierd. The guy kept it to try to figure it out. He says everything he reads points to the accumulators, which should be new.

I've had the same general symptoms for three trans. now.

That sucks arse! Sounds like its not pumping enough pressure to engage the clutches. Thats a tell tale sign a trans is about to "go".

Yeh, except this one was just rebuilt and he supposedly rebuilt the pump too, if you can do that.

What else can cause lack of pressure to the clutches?

Could be that you have pressure (he'd have to pressure check the trans) but its not getting through the valve body? Did he put in an upgraded valve body or do a JMOD to it?

I think he used the one that was in it. I just got it from Central Valve Bodies a couple months ago.

I guess there was a rod missing from the tail shaft that had something to do with a governor, which was only on the '93's. They put it in and it helped some but the overdrive is still wack.
