Tranny Problem

Between the both of you it sounds like a good drive thru proposition to get your Mark all set with new tranny and brakes in two hours. LOL

I have to be seriously pissed at a ****ty trans to do this, but it's more than possible, and done several times.

Brakes ? I hate brakes. ;)

Are there any modifications I have to make to my '97 (electrical maybe) after I remove the tranny and before the '98 goes in? If so, can someone tell me what/how?? Thanks.

I found a tranny...it's a '98 with about 60,000 on it. $425.00 delivered to a local trucking office. What do you (anyone) recommend that I do to this one prior to replacing. New accumulators, what? It's NOT going to be a race car, however if I can do some inexpensive things now to prevent removal and repair in 10-30k miles......

You need to make sure you flush all the trans lines... intall a cooler as well if you haven't already.

Also Mercon V... the accumulator(s) should be fine. But it doesn't hurt to check them out.

Is the electrical plug the same in the '98 as it is on my '97? I thought I heard somewhere that there are a couple of pins that have to be swapped????

I can't help with the swap info, but I would just add a short interval(1000 miles) on the first fluid change with frequent, frequent checks at first. Any issues should be immediately addressed and not thought of something that will 'wear in' and go away. In light of this the new pan should have a drain plug to facilitate draining. Check the TC for a drain plug as well.

The harness does need to be re pinned. It's no big deal (it's worth it, you're getting a 98 trans).

You can get the diagram on the Tocca site (sorry, I don't have the link).
