Trans slips on corners

I was getting on the highway last night and when I was on the on ramp, my transmission slipped a bit. I changed the fluid (not a complete flush) and filter a few weeks ago, and added a thing of Lucas. I don't think it did this before, but I can't say I am 100% sure. When I took the pan down, the old filter fell out in the pan, it was not seated in the transmission. The fluid reads right where it should be, both hot and cold. I think what I will do sometime this week is drop the pan and make sure the filter is seated, add new fluid and see what happens. It seems to work fine driving straight, and also seems better once the car warms up.
Anny ideas/suggestions? Thanks.

Make sure the seal for the filter is in place.

If you have the tranny pan that has a dimple - you need the filter that has the extension tube.

Mine is a 95 with no dimple, although they did sell me the filter for the dimple pan by accident once. I think I remember reading once that people who were having this problem were switching the newer pan with the dimple. Would be nice to have a drain plug on the pan too.

Drain plugs are easy...next time it's down, just get one (or put one in yourself if you can (or know a) welder) and have it put in.

I happen to have one if you're interested. PM me if you want the same one in the pic I posted. With the built tranny, I went for the deep-dish cast aluminum pan.

another option is one of the suck out pumps(they hold 6qts have what looks like a bicycle air pump handle on top ) I found lots of other uses from suking out gear lube in rearends to sucking water/debris from gas tanks without having to completely empting them(does a better job you can swish residual gas and get all the junk) works on pwr steering res. also.

Here ya go! A Drain plug. :D

Also...when you did your filter swap, are you sure the old o-ring(seal) came out before you installed the new filter? Its very common for the filter to "fall" down into the pan causing it to suck air when you turn corners.

Driller, I will let you know on that pan.
J, I do remember pulling the old seal out, but who knows, maybe I didn't seat the new one properly. I don't think I had this problem before the filter change, but when I pulled the pan down, the old filter was just sitting in the pan.

Still have the drain plug pan for sale? Decent condition? What do you want for it?
