iv already had my trans rebuilt and JMOD by a pro in Dallas. now im building a new motor but i need to know how much HP can the Ford AOD handle as a day to day driver.

AOD? It is a 4R70W.

If you have the upgraded diode, valve body etc, basically 98+ internals I'd say 350 RWHP.

If you don't ... 250 tops.

Depending on build you can have up to 450.

It varies a lot depending upon the builder and parts used. They can be built to hold up to insane power levels, 500HP + at the crank, 400+ RWHP easily. There has been many in the mid 300's RWHP for daily drivers.

Lonnie said my stage 3 can withstand 500-600 rwhp. It's in a 700 hp Mustang running low 10's as we speak.

It's not the hp, it's the torks.

And it depends how hard you beat on it. Most new cars won't go WOT in first from the factory because the trans can't handle the torks.

i was thinking im not going to drag race the car so that saves the trans a lot so i shouldnt tair it up if i get teh new motor around 400-450 hp imnot goign to spent all this money to tash my car.
