After reading a few threads here, I've noticed that lincoln uses Mercon V as there choice of fluid, my question is, Mobil 1 has a synthetic transmission fluid, would that hurt my car (LS) if i was to use that ?

The LS transmission fluid is Mercon V. Mercon V is a synthetic blend. The Mobil 1 ATF is a service replacement for Mercon V.

Yep. If you look closely on the bottle of Mobil 1 ATF I'm pretty sure it says something along the lines of "replacement for Mercon V"

As far as change intervals, I'd stick with the same change interval as Mercon V but perhaps someone else knows more about this newer fluid.

Ford's recommendation for 5R55E transmission services is every 30 months under "severe usage" or 60 months/50,000 miles.

The usual qwikky-shop "drop-the-pan" service is not advised. 5R55E transmissions hold 12 quarts and have no torque convertor drain. The standard style of tranny service will only replace 2 1/2 to 3 quarts of fluid. This becomes very important if you decide to step up to synthetic. ALL fluid must be removed with a power flushing machine before being replaced.

Mixing conventional and synthetic fluids serves no purpose, and may actually create unnecessary problems.
