Tried Mother's Clay Bar Kit w/Good Results

I finally decided to try the clay bar (CB) that the guys have been talking about. I bought the Mother's Kit at Canadian Tire (around CDN$25). Comes with the CB (not as big as I thought it would be. Let's not go there). The kit also included a 475ML spraybottle of Showtime and 4 oz of California Gold Carnauba Cleaner Wax.

The CB did an amazing job on the surface of the Mark. I could hear it cutting through the crap and corruption on the hood leaving it smooooth as a baby's bum. I had so much fun I did 80% of the car that day!

I'd recommend it to you guys. Now that I have the kit, I'll look for a new bar by itself when I need to replace it. Hopefully I can find it sold separately.

Anyway, just thought I'd share... Has anyone else in the chapter used one yet and where did you get it?

I'm not in your chapter but I recently used the exact smae kit and really liked the bar. It will be a staple for me from now on. Didn't think much of the wax though. The detail stuff was OK.

How hard is it to do the whole car? Is it as time consuming as waxing it? I would imagine it involves more work... am I right?

I used the same kit on my Mark.
Once I got started, I just kept going until the whole car was done. It took less than three hours (I didn't time it)including a coat of wax to finish the job. It was suprising to me how easy it was. You don't need a lot of pressure on the clay bar. Just keep the surface wet with the spray or even just water. The surface really comes out smooth. I would recommend the process for every car.
