Turning Off The Air Ride, Safe or Dumb?

Since my car keeps getting intermittent check air ride messages, once every 3 to 5 days and then disappears, would it be a bad idea to just turn off the air ride switch and drive it while its at the sensor lowered stance?
 
That is one method to determine if you have a leaking air bag that is causing the check lite to come on.
 
sensored lowered and going on the highway is a bad idea. depending on the drop of course. i made that mistake and ended up breaking my inner plastic fender liner on a road trip over a bump....that was scary as sh!t. you can sensor lower it and turn the switch off if you plan on going over 55(?).
