I just aquired a 1975 Lincoln Continental Coupe in excellent condition. This vehicle has 13,500 actual miles with everthing on the vehicle being original including tires, top everthing but the battery. This vehicle has been in my family since new and has been in a garage covered in a dry part of the country. This vehicle was started and driven about every three or four months of its life and it is in like new shape. I would like some expert advise on just what this car is worth.
Thanks Mitchell

W E L C O M E ! :D

Sounds like you have a beautiful specimen of a Lincoln. Unfortunately I wouldn't have a clue of it's value. I did a quick search on Hemming's Motor News and only found a '75 Conti with 110K miles for $3350. Clearly not representative. Perhaps someone else will chime in.

Mitchell,

Call Frank & Dorothy Hammond in Artesia, New Mexico. They collect Linclns of that era and either one of them can give you good information regarding your Contnental Coupe. I think the area code is 505. They live just west of the airport and could probably meet you if you deccide to fly there for a visit. They have two VERY NICE low mileage Town Coupes amoung other Lincolns.

Thanks for the Info, this vehicle was in storage about 70 miles from Artesia. I will give them a call.

Mitchell,

I'm sure that is the correct number. I hope that you made contact with the Hammonds and that they were of some help.
Please post letting me know the results of your contact with them.

Mitchell,

Do you intend to keep the Coupe or are you thinking you might sell it?

RE: Value of my 1975 Lincoln Continental Coupe

Hey Mike:

Thanks for the help, I'm thinking I will sell the car I just don't have the need for it. I think that web search for the Frank Hammond has got to be the one. I will call tomorrow and see for sure. Again thanks to all for the help......

Mitch,

Thanks for the photos. Can't see the color very well. What is the exterior and interior color?
What is the CID? Can you list some of the options. Anxiously awaiting the dollar figure you and Frank/Dorothy determine. Let us know.
They have a rare red and white coupe with about 22,000 miles. It miight be a '77. Don't remember for sure. Ask about it. It's beautifull! They also have one or two more coupes.
Call 'em. Thats a good number.

Mike

I'm not sure the exact color by Lincoln standards but it's a pea green almost yellow and the interior is a dark green. The options are probley standard for that vehicle like am/fm radio no 8 track or casette. Power windows and locks and seats, power antenna power trunk opener and I think thats about it. It has the 460 engine and it runs like it was new. The original tires which I believe are the bias tires that after it sets a while it takes several miles to get smooth but once it does she just glides down the road. I haven't had a chance to call the Hammonds yet but will try soon. I took it by the Lincoln dealer the other day and they just thought it was fantastic, the owner is interested in buying or makeing a trade for something. I really have my eye on the new mustang just waiting on the convertable coming out in Feb.

Mitch,

Thanks for the information about the options and color of the Coupe. That color may not be very "flashy." I believe the 460 CID is a plus. Good that the owners manual is with the vehicle. If the window sticker was there that would be nice also. I remember those tires that would get flat spots when they got cold.
Can hardly wait untill you talk to Frank/Dorothy.
Keep us posted.

Thanks,

Mike:

Still haven't had time to call the Hammonds, My job keeps me busy this time of year, I'm a pilot for the Department of Homeland Security. Today I had the nose wheel colapes during landing on a C-210 single engine aircraft. All things turned out ok noone hurt and very little damage to the aircraft. I will keep you posted on the vehicle as soon as I get some info.

Beautiful car. Horrible color. Typical 70's though, i guess.

Good luck! Pics never do tell the story, but it looks to be in excellent shape.

Glad everyone is okay after your little incident. Have you been flying any of our armored cabs over to Iraq?

RE: Value of my 1975 Lincoln Continental Coupe

Mitch,

Glad that there were no fatalities or injuries. I hear that take off and landing is the most dangerous part of flying. Now you're gonna be a$$hole deep in paper work for a month of Sundays! I know the Federal Govt. I worked for them for a while after being in the military. Good that it wasn't pilot error.
I will continue to check in often. Thanks for the update.

RE: Value of my 1975 Lincoln Continental Coupe

Ok I talked with Frank Hammond and he said just by talking with me and not seeing the vehicle his old car book shows it to be worth between 15,500 and 10,850. He also give me a mans name in Clovis NM that will sell the car for a small fee. I,m thinking about listing it on E-Bay just not sure yet.

RE: Value of my 1975 Lincoln Continental Coupe

Mitch,

That is more than I thought. The numbers that I picked out of the hat were $7,500 - $9,500. Was I realy off on this one! Glad that you finally talked to Frank. He got you in the ball park. He's "connected" when it comes to these Lincolns, so this man in Clovis might be the way to go if the "small fee" isn't too big! It would also be good if Frank could see the car.
Let us know how this deal progresses and good luck.
