Very odd Steering problem

When driving and taking a left or right turn the steering wheel gets "caught" at about the 2-3 o clock position ( right turn, 9-10 for left) and hangs there until i correct it manually..

The front end is tight as my mech. buddy just put in a new lower bj and new strut rod bushings. All the other bj's and tie rods were in great shape with no play.

The alignment was bad before and is worse now as the shop was closeing for the night. Before it sat at 2 oclock and now i have no clue as i'm picking it up tonight and taking it to get an alignment tomarow..

Would a slightly bad alignment cuase this?

Your symptoms sound like a very bad caster setting on the alignment. Did you have the strut rod bushings checked after installation?? There was some new ones out there that needed the sleeves shortened if I recall correctly.
