a friend of ours has a 2001 volvo, she got a recall notice for throttle linkage.and when she phoned the volvo dealer they told her they would have to perform other tests to make sure that is the problem. am I wrng, but it seems to me they are required to fix the recall regardless. she's out of work and can't afford the 150.00 service charge.
also if volvo is part of fomoco couldn't she have the work done at ford or lincoln?
thanks.

I'm sure Uncle Sam would be very interested in the fact that her local dealer is going to charge her for a "FREE" service. I'd have her call back and ask them to be sure this is a "real" recall and not an ad for more service business.....Or call the Volvo factory customer service 800 number and tell them that her dealer wants to charge her for the recall!

I do believe that it's against the law to charge for a recall.....again, check with Factory Customer Service. I'd go online with Consumer Products Safety Commission.

LMAO, wow Bob, she is getting ripped off. Call a different dealership. A recall is a recall, NO charge ever.
