Water leaking from heater box

I have'nt driven the Mark in a couple weeks and since then it has snowed a few times as well as rained. The interior of the windows I noticed were all wet and condensated so I had to check it out. The passenger floor was wet and there was water dripping from the blower motor and resistor wiring. Tore it all apart and noticed the inside of the heater box was fairly wet inside and out.

Found this:

Anyone else seen this issue?

Yeah, it's very common on second gens. Not sure about first gens. The seal around the fresh air intake under the cowl dries out and starts to leak, and the water runs right down to the blower. It'll also run down under the carpet and make it sopping wet on the passenger side.

You need to pry off the intake, scrape off the old seal, and use RTV to seal it up again.

Its at my mechanics shop right now. He said that he resealed it with epoxy and it needs to cure inside for 24 hours. I hope it works

Should take car of it. :) It's all the power from the Gen 2's....forces the ducting back with the force of the stop light launches. :D

Crap!! Wet floor, no blower motor!

J are you off on Wed for some repair work? I'll bring the parts and refreshments.
