So, I just brought home my new 1997 Mark VIII LSC. I haven't driven it but two days and now I have no AC. The climate control is on and working just the blower motor won't blow. I've checked the fuses and they are all good. Any suggestions? Also is there any other way to find the code for the door. Or maybe just reprogram it? This probably should have went in the HVAC forum, so my bad.

There is a rather common problem with the blower motor connection. Empty the glove box, lower it and check the connection. I think its an orange and black wire connection? Remove, inspect and clean. See if that helps.

The keypad code is on the right trunk hinge.

The door code is on the passenger side trunk mount. It is a white piece of tape with some numbers on it.

The blower motor wire is in the passenger front side foot well. You might just have a bad connection, and sometimes, just to wiggle the wire and it might work for a temporary fix. There are detailed instructions somewhere. Just do a search.

Thanks I'll give that a try, also the reason I'm asking about the key code is b/c it would seem the little sticker is missing. I knew about the sticker from my 93 Mark but this one has been taken off. Cool right?

That worked!!!! thanks guys, new Mark VIII and this happens I was freaking out. I'll have to get something to hold that wire in place but besides that it works. I'm going to try and get some pics posted of the new ride.

The code is also on the box in the trunk of a Gen one. In a Gen II this box is inside the driver's side door. Not sure if the code is on it or not and its a little harder to get to.

Lol! Ya, thats where I looked. Maybe JP keeps them hidden so HE looks like the hero? Hehe, just kidding John. :D

This is commonly caused by water getting onto the connectors via the fresh air intake under the passenger side cowl cover, and generally happens after a hard rain. The foam gasket under the fresh air intake dries out and lets water into the interior of the car. Check your passenger side carpet after a rain. If it's wet (or if it's wet around the blower motor), then that's the root cause.

The solution is to remove the cowl covers, pry off the plastic fresh air intake, scrape off the old seal, and re-seal it with some adhesive silicone sealant. It's a 15 minute job.

I've taken on the task of updating the FAQ and tech pages. Mostly just fixing bad links, but I'm also trying to find missing articles like that one. Actually that article is on another site, so we have no control over it.

If anybody has any more "hidden" links or wants to see anything added (that already exists), send them my way.

Ok...so are you gonna add any? We've been trying to get some of my write ups into a tech section.
