-- Looks like all 2700 posts that I made over there in the last 3.5 years are no longer anymore since I am no longer allowed to exist on that site. Calvin Louie is not running that board to help the mark Viii people. I hope all of you people realize this. He proved that again after he repeatedly deletes my "How to N2O" link that is hosted on Lincoln of distinctions webspace. The first two posts that I posted about it did absolutly nothing but help people trying to add NOS to their mark VIII;s.

I think it was Thomas Wolfe that once said, "You can't go home again". That's why we moved. Welcome to the the "new/real old" LOD website.....Joe, this is your home now; sit down and stay awhile ;). You have many "brothers" on this site that the same thing has happened to them also :).

My sentiments exactly.

RE: What do you get when you try to help people out??

I haven't been kicked off yet. If there's any specific people on there that you want me to tell about this site, let me know and I'll do it no problem. Unfortunately, you can't just IM everyone and tell them where the real LOD is. I like going there still cuz there's different people there that are cool too. It just sucks that the guy running it is such a loser.

RE: What do you get when you try to help people out??

Bi-Polar Disorder is a tough thing to attempt to live a Normal life with.

I feel sorry for him in all actuality.

The funniest thing is that he allows people to believe that they are on the LOD official site for the most part by leaving up all the Carlisle posts, thousands of mentiongs of the site and club...etc. People are always saying stuff on there like "I finally joined the club" they have no idea, it's a shame.

I have customers that ask "why don't you post on the LOD anymore?" I was like "I do everyday?" He said he NEVER sees me post, then I ask wat adress do you type in for the board?
He tells me the adress to the Darkside.

He had been paying his dues to the LOD and going there fraudulently all this time, never benifitting from the club except for the newsletter.

Man that burns me up and makes ZERO sense? He hates the place but allows people to think they are there part of the LOD club?

Don't feel bad Joe I had well over 5000 posts that are probobly gone as well as all the others who are "Dammed" LOL!

You should tell each and everyone of them!

RE: What do you get when you try to help people out??

Ok, I am a nobody. I have a few posts here, and about 1400 over there. I have been hanging out here for a while, but I just joined this site a few months back as a paying member. I frequent both sites. And, I'll tell you why.

I firmly believe in a personal theory regarding people and websites. that theory is:
".. it isnt who built the house, but who lives in it."

Personally, I have no problem with the "other site" simply because I have benefitted from the people who write on it. It serves as a tool, a device, a referrence where I can ask people questions, and get answers.

I also benefit from this site for the exact same reasons. I feel it is my duty to help new Mark VIII/car owners by answering questions, so that those of you who have been answering the same questions over and over dont have to anymore. I'm sure it gets real old answering the notorious "why does my tranny shift so hard into second?", or "Why is the nose of my car sitting so low to the ground after I park it for a few days?" You "veterans" of the Mark VIII/LOD have answered those questions so many times, that I'm sure you dont even bother anymore... I feel its my job, as a newby to answer them now. You folks have paved the way for newby's like me to learn from, and share with others.

On a personal level. It angers me to see so many good people get "censored" for doing nothing more than practicing their rights to freedom of speech. especially if your intentions were to assist others.

I dont know "Ponyfreak", but I have swapped emails with him once. It was regarding an auction. I was eyeballing a used Mark VIII, and was placing bids, when I was suddenly outbid by Ponyfreak. I simply emailed him to let him know my intention, and he gracefully "stepped aside". of course, I made it clear what my "ceiling" was price wise, and he too decided to "pass" on it from that point on. I felt this was a very kind gesture on his part, and I told him I appreciated it.

I am sorry to hear that all of your efforts were for naught, but if it helps, if I read any N2O inquiries, rest assure, they will find you another way.

I hope to spend more time here. I met everybody in our LOD-NCA Chapter at the other site, but for similar reasons, we all "reside" here now.

For what its worth... Pony, you'll be missed over there... and I will let them know where to find you.

RE: What do you get when you try to help people out??

Well, since I am not that good at writting, if someone comes up with a good campaign slogan, I would be willing to sacrifuce my name on that board to spam out some threads and maybe get some people over here. I could probably even do it a few different times since my IP is randomized.

RE: What do you get when you try to help people out??

Hey kev that was my idea to but I don't think the people over deserve that. Now if you want, I will make a Picture about 1mb, that gives them the real mark8.org because you can't mention it. If we were to do such a thing it would have to be posted in every topic, every thread. We also could start with a silent attack be pm-ing people nicly.
Flood the place. PM if your up for it.

RE: What do you get when you try to help people out??

If you want to do something like that then have someone who posts a lot, and has posted a lot recently, to put it in their signature.

RE: What do you get when you try to help people out??

that wont work it needs to be a sudden attack, instantly

RE: What do you get when you try to help people out??

I'm sorry that happened to you, Joe, but its the continual bickering and inability to let go that makes this forum juvenile.

Its a damn car, let it go and lets move on. Spend energy building and supporting the community, not being negative.

When you change the pic in your signature, it'll change the signature in all of the posts you've already made. Some won't update until someone else posts in that thread, but i can't think of a better way to splatter mark8.org all over markviii.org instantly.

RE: What do you get when you try to help people out??

There are a number of people who left here and now post there. Their stated reason was all the whining and negative comments. I think we should just leave them alone. If we work to make this board the prefered site for useful information on our Lincolns then people will migrate here. Not allowing Joe's NO2 information on that board is a tactical error on their part. Information is the biggest reason people go to car sites. The friendships that develop from common interests come later.

As hard as it is for me to say, I agree.

Way too much time and energy is spent on bickering instead of building. We all know how Calvin is and how he runs things, so Im not suprised of how you were treated. I was treated the same a long time ago, and somehow, I have survived.

We need to spend our time and energy building this site, building the club, building the membership base. There is little room for Calvin Bashing, because it is simply gaining us nothing to do so. Wanna get back at Calvin? Promote this site and this club to thew point that nobody goes there.

Its all that simple.
