Getting ready to put on the cobra intake over the Christmas holidays. I've gotten a lot of parts I know I will need- cobra IMRCS and controller, cobra fuel rails, cobra intake tube. What else am I missing? I've heard that I need get get a cobra accelerator and cruise control cable- is this true? Also, will the stock MAF and airbox hook up to the cobra intake tube, or do I need to do something different? Is a new chip a most when you do this swap? Thanks guys.

RE: What is needed to swap cobra intake?

when i did mine i had the maf out of the air box and it fits right in the intake tube. yes u will need cobra acclerator and cruise cables because the marks are way too short i just hooked up the throttle cable and not the cruise. u will need the pcv crossover tube that runs from the driver side to intake tube and pcv tube on passenger side to intake tube. i didnt put the cobra imrcs on i just deleted them because u will need a msd ignition box to wire in the imrc controller for the cobra imrcs. mine should get a tune but it runs pretty well im just got some other stuff im gonna do first (ie lts, exhaust, art carr trans, stall converter, nos?) before a tune. have fun with the hood as it will not fit over the intake. i am going to have a cowl scoop grafted on the hood before spring i have the cowl its just not good outside right now. i think jeremi shimmed his k member and shaved the hood underneath but i didnt want to do all of that. hope this helps mike

You can use the stock Mark cruise cable, there is an extra foot in the wheel well. You don't need the MSD box to get the IMRCs to work. All you need is the cobra controller box that operates the IMRCs and a simple automotive relay.
