What is the best way to go about superchaging my Mark VIII

OK, as you could probably tell by my other thread, I want to go supercharged.

I would prefer to go with a roots blower, since they obviously make more TOTAL (not just peak) power, but I don't know much about what is available. I don't want to be a guinea pig, I want to do something that has been done before, because I want to spend more time driving my car than sitting and waiting for it to be done right.

Please give me some advice on what my options are. I want to get started very soon.

Thanks in advance :)

peak power is total power.

you can get a roots blower or a screw type supercharger, but you will need to do something to your hood to make it fit. And i don't think you can get one with an intercooler yet. If you swap to newer style heads you can get the kit made for the marauder. http://www.trilogymotorsports.com/products/

but that won't fit on the marks heads. there's a kenne belle supercharger that will fit our heads but you can't get an intercooler with it.

And roots blowers don't necessarily make more total power. You'll make plenty of power with a properly set up screw type supercharger, and it will be more efficient and generate less heat as well.

Right. I meant roots/twic screw vs. centrifugal. I am not a big fan of centrifugal blowers, and I would rather have an intercooled roots blower, than a non-intercooled twin screw.

I am sure you have been around this and other sites to know that there are also folks that have Centrifcal S.C's already on their Mark's, and they are happy with their setups. There are units available for the Cobra intake setup. It means you have to acquire a Cobra intake and also do some fabing to get the necesary clearances for the S.C. and its ducting.

I agree the twin screw blower may be better but unless you're willing to beef up the internals, you're going to need to self-impose a low psi ceiling. That being said, the KB loses much of it's performance appeal compared to the Vortech.

I screwed up... i meant to say centrifugal. what i said is still true for the screw type over the roots, but a centrifugal will still be more efficient and generate less heat than the scew type. And it will be cheaper and easier to install and intercool also.

you can't buy an intercooled roots or screw type setup for our heads, yet. i think kenne belle is coming out with one, though.
