What is this?

It is listed as a sensor, but for what i can't find out.

EDIT: My guess is it may have something to do with the air bags and sensing something with the driver or passenger or climate control, but neither system list it.
An other edit, could it have something to do with the SmartLock anti-lockout system?

Most Ford Part Numbers are the same for all types of parts. so 15K609 is the same type of part for all vehicles, regardless of the 3W1Z in front is different. I looked up 15K609 and found Sensor, and something about the alarm system/ambient lighting.
